the first shot is rahter good, but have you enhanced the blue?
i would have gone closer into the ring in the second one, so that i framed the photo. here, it's a shade distracting. wow, but, i'd never even have noticed the potential is such stuff.
here's one of mine, of water ripples at sunset. i've slitghly tweaked the red, but it's nothing much.
this one is "cheat shot": i plugged in some good music on my laptop, and photographed the visulaization handheld. i know this is a "cheap" shot, and nothing commendable, but i'm uploading this because a chap i know(a d70 owner) took some seventy identical shots of WMP visualzations, printed each out to some massive size, and held an exhibition which was described as "moving"
this one is of my famous "Nightmare" series (people thought it should be famous)...i have seven of them, but i like this the best. I placed the capacitors (electrical stuff) upside down on a mirror and photographed it at 1/2 sec on a tripod. i used multiple ligthing. however, while post processing, i foolishly did so on my laptop, which has flawed gamma values, so it's some stops underexposed.
I like the cheap shot the best. On the water fountain, They had blue dye in it, i actually had to tone it down a bit. The "nightmare" shot is very good as well. :)
This is about color and shape. Hope you like, opinions are always welcome. :)
fantastic! what is it?
Believe it or not. Salt-Water on a shallow sand-bar, overexposed. I didnt like the original shot so i tinkered with it and this was the result. I think I will have this one enlarged and hang it on the wall. Original art. ;)
for once, let's see what you can make of this: what on earth is this?
WOW,My best guess would be a Dancer? not sure.
noo....hint: a part of me is in the pic. (which part of me?!)
Is that your hand there?
ah yess...that's my hand there, which i kept in front of my table lamp. i then exposed the camera for 16 sec handheld, moving my other hand in sync with te hand in the picture, thus getting those streaky lights and the blurred hand.
sorry, this one didn't really belong in any other threads, this was the closest i could find. it's the first digital picture i ever took. the framing is awful and i probably should have taken it in color to begin with (more options).
interseting viewpoint though--and welcome to the abstracts thread (the best in the site! :D ) well--it's not exactyl abstract, but you juxtaposition of the bible and the cigarettes is certainly intersting--keep posting!
a mistake i've come to like.
This is an identical scene of Bald Eagles salt water and sand bed, only difference is cameras. Mine is a Canon 300 D. Yet the look is (or color) is different.
yours is better than mistah eagle's :DQuote:

Definately a "framer". Very nice. I bet if you added some brush strokes in photshop this would be a killer picture.Quote:

That is a mighty compliment, means I'm doing something right. WE both thank you. :)
Not sure if this counts as abstract. What do you think?
DiJ, it definitely qualifies. Great shot. Love the way it leads the eyes upwards. :) Post some more.
Great shot! I love this thread...Quote:

And this is what it really looks like. Its a huge Sundial with Zodiac included.
Who's Picaso now? Only you did it au natural! That is stunning. Have you made a large print to hang? I would! :)Quote:

here's one that i tribute to the celluloid beauty of film. this is my very first roll of film, chopped fine, and shot with window light.
incedentally (i love that word) look how it goes with winamp: i love b&W desktops!
I agree, very nice. but, if they all moved at the same time, it would make someone very dizzy. Great shot. Here is one that might qualify. I hope. Upside down flowers, taken at the entrance to Cypress Gardens. hope you like.Quote:

I took this one today, let me know what you think.
and this is the full view. This leaf must have been 4ft tall and 2 ft across. Huge.
stuck my camera out the window in Ethiopia at sunset and captured this weird thing...(not edited at all)

Wow!
That is a wonderful collection of great photos. The colors reach right out at you! Congratulations to all! Abstract, surreal, you name it. Great thread.

As the abstract thread seems to be the place for "bits of leaf" shots - here's mine. A bit of a fern leaf.
Canon A80, daylight, no flash, hand held, Ap. f/2.8, Exp. 1/125s, exposure compensation -2/3, macro, zoom and program AE modes, oh, and I was wearing brown shoes ;-)
