The pilot must have been watching me trying to take pictures somehow, every time I would get a shot I liked framed and my setting adjusted to shoot, they would turn the plane.

thanks.. No nothing too special. the only "cheat" was setting the white balance to "shade". After that - unsharp mask and a lot of cropping. I might also have edited out a telegraph wire in the distance. Camera/lens was an elderly Nikkor 70-210 zoom on a D70s.
