I'm not posting a sunset after that!
Good work N9, you've done better than me.
Being the only male in the house, I was totally outnumbered tonight when deciding what to watch on TV. So, whilst my good lady and our two daughters were avidly watching 'Britain's got talent', I decided to nip out with the camera to Shipley Park, a few minutes up the road from our house. Didn't bother taking my tripod, just used a fence post to steady my camera. Three shots - metered, +1 stop and -1 stop and this result was generated in Photomatix Pro (no further tweaks other than re-sizing)
just popped to the lake in the evening and this came out
Great shots everyone; very impressive!
Here's one I took last year at Humbug State Park in Oregon:
Here's a picture of yesterday's sunset. This was taken one day after a storm. The temperature had dropped quite a bit, which I think is why there was fog above the water. I have shot here a lot during sunset hours, but this is the first time I have ever seen it appear here.
Cool, Dennis. But those flowers in the foreground are distracting from the great colors and the fog.
Thanks Adam. You're right about the flowers. On my Flickr website I now have a version with the flowers cropped away.
Here's another one. I used the flash to illuminate the foreground.
