Nice picture, Ssmangrove. I also looked at the pictures on your blog, and there were some very good ones there also. Could I ask what lens you were using for these, and were they resized or sharpened? Reason I ask is I'm thinking about getting a 350d also, and I've been comparing lenses. :)
Dawfoo,
The only thing I did to the pictures is crop em' in iphoto (mac program). I didn't tinker with contrast or any of that good stuff. I am running a canon 350d with the stock "kit lens" which is an 18-55 mm. It's a good camera, but the kit lens wouldnt let me get as close as I had wanted to the birds and geese. Fortunately, the 350d is an 8 megapixel, so I didnt sacrifice quality in post production when i cropped around the subjects. It's a good lens to start with (or make due with for me being as I am a broke college student) but I can see myself buying a telephoto and macro when I scrap some money together. Ask coldrain about lenses, he seems to know his stuff!! Thanks for the compliments!:D
Like i said in the previous post, having 8 megapixel really helps counterbalance the lack of zoom on the stock lens. Here is another crop (by no means to be considered a decent picture!) just to show you how it can hold clarity through a total of 3 crops

thanks for visiting my blog too!
This is a shot of an American Bald Eagle taken on Saturday, Jan 14th near Alton, IL.
Thanks for the info, Ssmangrove. That lens did a great job...I didn't realize a kit lens could look that good, and I think that's the route I'll go at first. Can't see your photo in your following thread though...
BTW, I got my first Mac in 1987 (which is close to the year you were born—man I feel old LOL) and have had them ever since. :)
