Finally the sun was out today and i decided to test out my new Canon 100-400mm f4.5 L. It was cold out but worth it! I was fortunate enough to find some very cooperative birds :)
The first one of the bluejay, i was standing against the sun so the lighting isn't the greatest and couldn't get in better position without scaring him off. Alla re crops of 10-20% only except the last one which was about 50%, I was able to get within 10 feet at times :)

Tyger those pictures are amazing!!! My favorite picture is the 2nd picture with the blue jay, it looks like a little fluff of feather and reminds me of my bird for some reason. I enjoyed the Black capped chikadee pictures too, it seems you gave it quite a scare.

Tyger your last photos are really impressive. They look so sharp and just great.
Your new lens is worth the money you spent.

I've got to look this little guy up... :)
thanx for the previous comments everyone! and of course, always inpiring stuff here.
Well today was yet another great day for birding, the sun was out and it was quite warm out. I went to a place called Lynde Shores Conservation (whitby ontario) which is known for its variety of species...about 300 of them. Though i didn't see any big birds, like hawks, eagles or herons, but i was able to catch some Downy wood peckers, some morning doves, White breasted nuthatch, and of course some Bluejays which i will share first :)
This shot he came and went so quick i didn't even have time to zoom out so i didn't get all of him.
