Lovely pic of the swans - but I don't get along with it on the sqiff
like that - sorry. Some images seem to lend themselves to being taken
wonky, but for me this doesn't.
Nice clean sharp image though.

Ahh my signature is hideous!
Just got a Pentax K200D. My first shot of the wild birds in my backyard with it. As much as i liked my Fuji S9600 I am much happier with the results so far. All 3 pics taken with the Pentax 18 - 55 lens and a 2.5x Teleconverter screwed on the front. I had the Teleconverter for the fuji s5700 and just thought I would try it.
I wanted to try different speeds to see what the results would be like.
1st pic = F5.6, Focal Length 55mm, 1/4000th sec and ISO 400

Fantastic close ups Rooz. I really like the 300mm one in the group with the duck.
Cheers

Hope to get as good as you with my k200d, playing around now with my new 50mm 1.4 lens, I love shooting in available low light without flash, I shot quite a few pics with it the other but lazt me forgot to set the correct white balance, people looked like Herman Munster's relatives, all a shade of ugly green..why I didn't post them. I shouldn't rush things, my worst habit :(

Thanks Rooz. Much appreciated. As much as I dislike the little b..ggars for their bossiness and noise they sure are fun to try and photograph. They are like fighter planes the way that they twist and turn and then literally just drop to the ground like a Harrier Jet. Fantastic to watch.
The Sulphur Crested Cockatoos are funny when they are young and they land for a feed and dont have the coordination right. They hit the ground and just go end over end.
Funny too watch. Looking forward to trying to catch it now I have a better camera.
Cheers
Tony
No I actually hadn't received the 70 - 300 when I took those. They were both taken with the Pentax DA 18 - 55mm lens with a 2.5x Tele converter screwed onto the front. I am fortunate that my wife feeds all the parrots daily so they just drop out of the sky around you which gives a few opportunities.
We get up to 32 Cockatoos, 30+ Galahs and anywhere up to 50 Corellas.
Will try to add the specs to the previous post.
