Thinking of getting this for my upcoming South America/Antarctica trip. Generally gets solid reviews, but everyone says it's huge. Will be using it with the 7D so will have to use the USB cable (groan).

I use it. It is big(ish) but not heavy. I wouldn't say I have used it extensively but the battery seems to be lasting well. I have no complaints about the GPS speed and am very happy with he simplicity of the tagging. I like that there is no need to use any software to get the tags on your photos.

Looks like a good trip with lots of coastal photo potential. The only thing I have read is that the seas between the Cape and Antarctica can be incredibly rough. Looks like the Holland America 20 day itinerary. Boy that is a long time on a boat. -
