Okay, it's custom function 1 on the 430 and custom function 14 on the 580.
Here is a snap I took today using my triggers.
430 on the dash, 580 behind the seat and a vivitar filling a bit through the windshield. I had the 580 in the trunk pointed towards the front but I was getting a lot of misses with it there, disappointing.
It's an Eagle Summit if anyone was wondering. Oh ya and that's the kit lens. :)
which hongkong triggers are you using Nick? I heard the new one (CTR-301) are better.
I got PT-04 II they are suppose to be updated as well..... damn those CTR-301s look like a much better design than the PT-04s. At least they look much more stable. That's always the way eh? you buy something and than BAM you find something better. I've been thinking of buying some cables so I don't need to mount the flashes to the trigger.
well i've got the CTR-301 versions and so far have been impressed with them. there are no pc sync terminals so the only way to use them is to mount the flash directly into them which is a downside for me really. but so far so good. no misfire at the moment. experimented a little, i have placed one flash on the other room with door closed, and the cheap little thing did its bit, it fired away. i've seen those PT-04 (not sure if I or II) and i must say they are pain to use. the salesman on the shop had hard time putting batteries on them!
been thinking of upgrading to PW minitt1 & flextt5 in future but that can wait until they are available here. :) CTR-301 will do for now.
1/200s is too fast for most of these kinds of consumer triggers. 1/125 or 1/160 works much more reliably, and since the light flash is so fast, you still get sharp shots.
the strobists got to you didn't they?
