DPR just did a re-test of the Sony A700 v4 against the other cameras. Holds its own very well against the D300 with both cameras taking a different approach to NR.

better NR does not equal hi iso performance. put better NR on the d300 via software and you;re back to where you started. nikon were in this position a couple of years ago, you guys just have to sit tight and wait for sony to get it together.
Laydros 'Jason' resist the urge, stay with us, Hold firm with Sony, it's kind of fun fighting a uphill battle! And don't you love when your out somewhere with other people shooting and you have to go, "well no, it's not a Nikon it's a Sony, no really, remember Minolta...."

Well I blame it on my mother she was born and raised in Northern Ireland ( it is a different country, part of the U.K.) so being half Irish I have been blessed with the gift of gab, story telling, and a very dry sense of humor. A fondness for dark cool beer, and the juice of the barley!
