Thanks Frank! hey why don't we all take a picture of our tree, or what ever symbol of the season we follow and post it here, I am still at work but will get one up when I get home.
Fair enough ... when we finish the thing ... it is still being decorated with ornaments and someone, misplaced the topper! LOL ... She's not too happy about it, either. It's been a heck of a seasonal challenge this year, between the snow, every other day and dealing with getting the holiday trio covered.
The weather is going to be so foul, tonight into tomorrow, we are actually thinking of pushing Christmas to the weekend and making a three day event out of it! I bought extra cocoa and had cookies baked for St. Nick to make a few stops, as folks show up.
I have to admit ... this has been, so far, one of the snowiest late Fall and early Winters I have ever seen. I remember , as a young kid, back in the sixties, we had some really good snows, but hey ... I suppose it is just cyclic. Every 15-20 years ... WHUMP! There's she is!
The scene from this morning ... saying, "Shovel me, Seymour!" and the snow is still coming ...

You see those oversized Christmas tree lights running along the pathway? They are nearly a foot tall, w/o the accompanying ground spike. I was considering buying about 40 sets (they come in sets of 5) and decorating that monster tree off to the left with them. It's nearly 40-feet tall ... so that's five per foot, a few less at the top ... a few more at the bottom. It could look pretty cool and quite a sight as people turn the corner. Aw well ... have to see if there are enough, after Christmas, at the stores. "Full price" could be very pricey, indeed.
Wow Don, we have nothing but a dusting of snow on the ground here in central Ohio, temps have been BITTER cold, was 1 degree with wind chill of 25 below zero on Sunday night. under a weather advisory right now for freezing rain, sleet, ice and snow as the temps climb. be in mid 40's on Weds. with rain!! What is going on. I remember back in the early 70's it snowed by Thanksgiving and the ground was white till around Easter, but never the cold snaps like this, and the extreme conditions.
Sean, they are talking about 4-10 inches of the white stuff .. on top of what I snapped, this AM. I mean, who knows? But, I know I am going out there, in short order, to shovel and probably putting the delay on the family Christmas party. I would never put my family through driving in this, unless they came by sleigh ... drawn by elephants in parkas. LOL :D

Our tree. The big present is a sewing table for Katy.
And my favorite gift I have received so far. My dad came to stay with us and brought me a handle of my favorite adult beverage.

Finally, I tried the nativity ornament again, this time with a tripod and clearing up the background clutter a little.

Nicely done!
Thanks.
I just noticed how nasty the bokeh is on that one though. The hexagons above and left of the ornament. Oh well... no one on dyxum claimed that the 35-70 had great bokeh, and it sure doesn't. Still has been a really great lens for a whopping $25.
Well... you were warned ... Muahahahaha
Anyway, Merry Christmas, to one and all. I don't care what your religious persuasion is ... that's how I am spending MY holiday and the greeting goes with the day. Welcome to my world. LOL :D
Haha.... yeah, I know. But for the price of a couple of filters, it has been a heck of a better lens than the kit lens. I still have to use the kit lens quite a bit for range, but when I can use this, things are better. It's also been nice to have something to show me what I am missing with the kit lens, and to learn about that famous Minolta color.
Merry Christmas everyone!
