The DOF is too shallow, because I believe that 'shoey' had the flower in mind, as the subject ... not just the tips of the petals.
Remember, you can always diffuse and de-focus in post processing ... you rarely, if ever, can get it to look sharper focus that it really is. Be aware of your DOF.

Don't know what type of plant this one is, but it is very vibrant.
Nice one dr4gon. I've got a soft spot for the little fellers too. Last month I had to keep sifting through the grass cuttings in the lawn mower to rescue bees sucked into the grass box. There must have been something at ground level to attract them though what I don't know. The Missus keeps saying I'll get stung but It's never happened yet. If you think I'm being daft ....
The UK Bee population has fallen dramatically and is under threat on more than one front. Apparently, a pesticide-resistant parasitic mite is at work sucking the blood of the adult bees and introducing a paralysis virus which kills the adult bees within five to eight days.
A new study suggests that gases from car emission are dulling floral aromas and disrupting insect life. Researchers claim pollution is dramatically cutting the distance travelled by the scent molecules of plants. This is preventing flowers from attracting bees and other insects needed to pollinate them. As a consequence, the numbers of insects are dramatically dwindling as they struggle to locate the nectar off which they feed.
It seems that potential environmental disasters are cropping up more and more.
Here's a Bug that popped in at the right (wrong) time.

It looks quite similar to Kangaroo Paw which is a native plant of Western Australia. Not sure if it is or not though ?
