Raven, it was flash through glass. The best reason to spend the extra $30 or so on a cable for your flash is the ability to get it off the hot shoe and at a good angle to pesky reflective surfaces. Add a small diffuser and you can get decent shots through glass.
Aren't there wireless alternatives for that?
Cancel that, my version of the eagle sucked. It would take more playing around.

Sure there is wireless, but the Olympus 'wireless' requires the use of the main popup flash as the controller and it has to have line of site as it is via IR (or main flash pulsing, not entirely clear which one). A pair of wireless RF modules is more than I want to spend or carry since I do not do portrait work where it would be most useful. I'd rather spend that money on nice filters or a remote camera trigger with time lapse capabilities.
These various wireless accessories sound interesting, sometime I'm going to figure out how they work and which ones work best, hopefully in a fashion the results in only getting one.
Nice quiet day to wait on the deck for the local birds to visit. Mainly just looking for an excuse to use the EC-20 and 50-200 combo. I am always amazed at how much more colorful these purple finches seem when captured close enough.
A warm Winter and the birds are sporting bright colors already.

Thanks DPR. I have been thinking I need to find some bark to wrap around my feeder bracket; it would give the images a more natural look.
