This is one of those times when I REALLY wish I had an ultrawide lens. What I really liked here was the frost on the ties, but its hard to see in the web version.

I noticed it and would have commented on it even if you hadn't mentioned it:). Being a Canadian not living in Canada, it made me a little home sick. I love frosty autumn days.

Yes, I know... Its yet another Moon shot.. but I wanted to share this as its my best moon shot yet with the humble 70-300IS..

I had to do a double take thinking oyu would not see it at that size. But yup! I can see it on the left there. For such a fancy shmancy camera I would be rather upset about that. Clean it or get it cleaned I say :)

I know land cruisers are capable off road vehicles... but how did it get there without any dirt on the tires? It's a riddle that always confuses me about car shots on dirt. :-p

2nd hawk shot is incredible - 1st one is nice too.. how on Earth did you get that at 160mm.. I would have to assume you cropped it but how much? It's still sufficiently sharp so I really wonder how you did it. Splendid.

I was on the terrace of my building.. took quite a few shots of her.. and it was more like she was checking me out... did 3-4 fly-by's and had her gaze always fixed on me.. This was shot when she came closest to me... almost head on... must have been around 10-15m from me.. Its a 50% crop btw, and the larger version is 100% crop

I got better success this time for BIF shots as i used AI servo with the * button for focussing and the shutter button for shooting..

that second shot is amazing.....very well captured... :)

Love both of those Hawk shots Viky.

Viky - I could definitely see that second shot hung on somebody's wall or in a magazine. Great capture!
