This is one of those times when I REALLY wish I had an ultrawide lens. What I really liked here was the frost on the ties, but its hard to see in the web version.
Quick little wide open test for the 50mm 1.4 on my favorite lens tester subject.
ISO 3200

delobbo - another killer pano.
faisal - the product shot looks good, although I'm not sure I like the way the watch seems like its floating.
saleh - I'm seeing some of that infamous 5D sensor dust. ;)

The first one is really nice, here is one I shot of my puppy. On board flash just messing around.

Droopy...nice dog action shots...
When I took this shot...I thought that the shopping cart would handle corners better than this Chevrolet Lumina SS (not known for its great handling)....

Not a great shot by any means (I chopped her head off for starters). But I still think it's worth a look because it's so cute :)
My first day out with my first dSLR. Critique and suggestions welcome.

Nice dog shots droopy - those are difficult shots to get.
Thanks michael
Here's a couple more from last week..
She was constantly aware on my presence.. got to captured some heavy Eye-Contact in these...
Love how her wing span is so symmetrical and 'back lit'..

400D with 70-300 IS @ 170mm, 1/400, f/7.1, ISO 200
This one's my favorite.. love the aggressive pose.. how the body n wings are angled, but head is horizontal..

400D with 70-300 IS @ 160mm, 1/320, f/9, ISO 200
Check out the larger version of this one here!
Thanks for looking:)
2nd hawk shot is incredible - 1st one is nice too.. how on Earth did you get that at 160mm.. I would have to assume you cropped it but how much? It's still sufficiently sharp so I really wonder how you did it. Splendid.
I was on the terrace of my building.. took quite a few shots of her.. and it was more like she was checking me out... did 3-4 fly-by's and had her gaze always fixed on me.. This was shot when she came closest to me... almost head on... must have been around 10-15m from me.. Its a 50% crop btw, and the larger version is 100% crop
I got better success this time for BIF shots as i used AI servo with the * button for focussing and the shutter button for shooting..
that second shot is amazing.....very well captured... :)
Love both of those Hawk shots Viky.
Viky - I could definitely see that second shot hung on somebody's wall or in a magazine. Great capture!
