Great picture of the dragon fly.
Here is one for me for the day.
Taken with a Tamron 17-50 and post processed in Lightroom.

Drama - Fantastic dragonfly shot.
Kolky - Interesting perspective. Did you use a CP on that shot? - there is alot of vinegetting in the corners.
No, I actually added the vinegetting in Lightroom becuase I thought it drew the eye up through the tower to the sky.
Gintaras & speed 2, now you know my secret :D
kolky & michaelb thanks :)
kolky flickr was flaky, so I could not mail you, am adding you as a contact, will send you an invite you to the "dcrp shooter's" soon
Rebel Rat
Thanks :)
That fits the bill, perfectly :D
I like it Michael, it makes me want a NG filter. One thing, is that the filter hits the tree on the left since it rises above the horizon, so that it loses the shadow detail.
Here's my contribution. I was fooling around with the Canon 100mm 2.8 Macro and some stuff I found in the kitchen. Water, baby oil. I couldn't decide which one to post so I hope you folks don't mind two.
Great work everyone! Hey Mike and Adam, I just read in the recent Popular Photography And Imaging magazine a cool PS process where you take one image with a ND grad (taken on a tripod) then take a second picture without the ND filter (same settings) then merge the two together by creating a mask layer etc.
I'll make a proper post once I get a chance to try it out!
Cool shots nqjudo :)

U got a trained Dragonfly too drama?
Wait a minute...isn't that the same one you had the other day? How u get him to do that?
Hey, did you add grain to that shot? Looks good!:)
NickCanada & Speed2
Thanks :)
I liked that grainy look, I shot it in RAW at iso 400

Personally, liked the B&W more
Its a black drongo, a brave little feller, who will take on bigger birds, if necessary :)
Drama - Very nice shot. I like the B&W more too but both are really nice. Here's another macro experiment.
That is fantastic!

Damnit here we go again, first the Trained Dragonfly then the sitting Duck and now he's got a Sparrow?...the darn things even looking at him while he takes the picture (posing Sparrow). Whats that running down the right side of what ever the birds sitting on?...maybe a rope? Nice pic even if u do have it on a leash...lol
That's great, nqjudo! I'd love to try that. Could you explain how you did it? Please?
Ngjudo thanks :)
this concept of not taking shots with a dark subject on a dark background, bugs me
water drops on a CD?
very inventive :)
It's pretty easy and nothing original on my part. I got this idea from a friend. It's just a blank DVD with water drops placed on it using an eyedropper. You can get some nice shots just like that but what makes the colours so interesting in this case is the use of the flash. I use the Canon MR-14EX and by dismounting the flash from the front of the lens, you can place the ring at different heights and angles over the drops to refract the light differently, thus producing different colours and patterns. I took dozens of shots, each one very different. Have fun!
Nothing too interesting here. It's rainy today so I was stuck inside. These are 50 - 90 second exposures, light-painted with a key-chain flashlight.
Thats one moody shoe :)
One for Speedy2 & Gintaras :)

Drama - Those are really nice and crisp. Are you doing much sharpening in PP?
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1084/...530af7ea75.jpg
I think I was using my EF-s 17-85 for this shot. Pretty sure.
I wanted to post the larger veersion...hahaha. She's so cute!
Thanks ngjudo :)
I shoot raw & play around with the sharpness a bit in the CS2 raw plug in 50 to 75 %, plus curves
Speed2, cool shot, the detail in the wings is excellent
Rebel Rat
She does look better than most dragonflies :D
