Do weighted averages apply? If you post something really awsome, does that cover you for a week? lol.
Like the dog's drooping eyes. The nose sort of grabbed the focus, but he looks like a cool dog.

Looks good Tony, are they wearing blankets?
My wife calls them sheep coats. She tells me they keep the wool cleaner so it is easier to shear and cheaper to process.
Those sheep remind me of Wyo.
Here's another recent photo I took, but of a Jeep to go with the other Jeep posted earlier. Not mine though since I sold my Jeep long ago.

Ahh thanks :DQuote:
Twism, great photo of London. It is nice to see the 50mm 1.8 at work in skyline photography. Did you also use a star filter?
Yeh, I bought the 50mm the other day, not sure if it was the right choice for me, but cheap enough not to be a huge issue.
As for a star filter, I dont know what that is :(
Anyways, great pics everyone and great thread Idea... now if only I had enough time to take and post a picture everyday :(

ISO 1250, really? Wow... I don't see any noise for an ISO that high. Did you use any noise reducing software?
Well you already answered my question by not knowing but here is a page that shows you what star filters do, looks like you accomplished this effect with your f-stop.
http://www.tiffen.com/star_filters.htm
You m ight beable to recognize noise at full size, but more likely not on a website and that size. And also its slightly hard to see noise in white objects, as that is what I have discovered.
So yeah i was on the way home from a band after school thing when I just happened to see this and had my new d50 w/ me.

How 'bout some love for a mans best friend...
I went to the Xavier-Detroit game last night and decided to see how the 18-135mm Nikon lens would handle indoors with low light. I had the ISO set to 800. The photo was hand held.

At least post the camera & lens you used if you don't have the EXIF data.

Trying out the 70-200, had the vr on because I am like a wild man when I try to hold this bad boy. I think of the sheriff "Bart" on Blazing Saddles when I use this lens, "Excuse me, while I whip this out"
Shot at f/2.8
Iso 200
200mm
1/1600 sec.
It looks a lot softer than it actually is, because I dropped quality down, to around 80 in ps, to get it within sites parameters.
I really like the geese shot rawpaw, good to know you're using the lens correctly.
I'm really enjoying this thread. Especially since I am very close to having my very own Nikon dslr. Love the chicago shots and cats, especailly. Thanks for posting! oh, and that game shot is amazing!

I can open a 2nd forum for nikon people only to post pics?
it will have to be a sub domain off my site though?
Just upload your pictures to a hosting site and post the link here for people to look at your photos, not sure it will be a good idea to post many pics every day on here.
well up in the canon section when i had a s3 wed post a ton of pictures in an s3 section so why not just start a "nikon slr pics" page?
Sounds great, shoeytennis! :D "If you start it, they will post ..."
Probably would be a good idea to start that thread in the "Photo Gallery" forum. I dont know, maybe Jeff keller would have a comment?
I agree with jcon. The owner of the site has provided members with a specific section for posting pictures. If someone goes to the photo gallery section and starts a thread there for only Nikononians, I'm sure that might be alot better.
ok ok it is done! there is now a nikon slr pictures thread in photo gallery so lets go swarm it up and show what nikon slrs' can do!
OK now that that is all cleared up, we can continue our standard format here. Here is a shot of the Cincinnati skyline taken across the Ohio River from the Covington, Kentucky riverfront.
