Anyways, it was fun, untill my af assist lamp stopped working... now I'm just annoyed..... *strolls off to figure out how to turn af assist lamp back on*

If you were using it continuously it has probably just overheated and stopped working until it cools down.
Nikon build some sort of overheating protection into the circuitry.

I like the "blue" ski in the first photo though the other photo appears sharper.

I think adding to a little contrast and USM to the first one and it would be just fine. The 2nd is better overall, but the blown out sky takes away, so just play around with photoshop a bit and the first one will look fine.

If you dont mind, I took the liberty of doing a little adjusting to the first one.. what do you think, yomny?

Thanks guys the first pic is HDR hence the color of the sky and the light in the foreground, the second one is the original.
