Something a little different from me here. Found this little guy when I got home one night and he was on the window at the front entrance. I asked my girlfriend to hold the SB600 on the inside pointing it outwards backlighting the praying mantis. EXIF data: 1/400, f/11 ISO 400. Shot with 60mm macro lens. The window is textured and not clear so the flash caused some highlights in the bokeh.
great shot andrew. love the lighting.
i usually hate HDR's but the weather was too stormy to pass this one up. 9 image HDR ran through photomatix
Thanks StuartN, I was just trying to line up the moon with the structure...didn't think of the "cannon ball" thing :)

Chicago skyline shot on a cold and very windy night. Shot is slightly blurred because my sony camcorder tripod was no match for the wind.
Focal Length: 18mm
Exposure Time: 2sec
insane mantis shot! love the bokeh in it.
Thanks Rooz and Delobbo. Hope I can find more creative ways to use flash. I just got a second flash SB-26. And I managed to find a way to use the optical slave in the SB-26 with the CLS of my SB600 at the same time so I've got 2 off camera flashes. I'm about to go off to do a shoot for my friend who teaches taekwondo. I've done 2 previous for him but this one will be a bit different. I'll post up the results if they're decent.
a bedroom at Hearst Castle
here's the original EXIF:
Focal Length 18mm
don't see the ISO for some reason..
I'm assuming that's an HDR? Excellent capture of the room. Awesome Color.
