Kellie, you did a great job on the exposure. It probably will depend entirely on the composition of the shot. Since there is white on the face, you will normally want the face to have the best detail. So you will probably find yourself exposing for the white the most. But still try to keep the histogram off balance to the right (if you can) just shy of clipping the white.

I took this at an "airshow" here in Bryan, Texas. It is probably a misnomer to call it an airshow, more like a fly-in. anyhoo this is a shot of a Steerman 75 that a friend rebuilt. it took him the better part of 5 years.
