first AW1 shots. yepp...its a winner above the water.
Looks good, certainly better than the little Stylus Tough I use. Still not sure I completely trust myself to keep those seals clean and fresh for snorkeling every 9-12 months. I assume that Nikon seals spare lens and door seals?
What the heck is this? A duck or a gozilla?
Tim, Is that on the Mekong near Phnom Penh?
No D70Fan. The Mekong, at least the stretch near Phnom Penh, isn't this spectacular.
This is a human-made water reservoir in between 2 mountains at about 400 km northwest of Phnom Penh. Sadly, this was constructed during the Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge era and goodness knows how many youths died from building it. As you'd probably heard about it now, everything that was built during the Khmer Rouge time was done manually. It is one of a few Khmer Rouge's successfully built reservoirs that is still in operation.
Another shot of 'tropical storm'. About 90° from the firt shot above.
Thanks Tim. Just wondering, as there are (wide) stretches of the river up North (i.e. Thailand) that have a similar look. So a wild guess is this is Trapeang Thmo lake.(?)
You are fortunate to have traveled in the area. Not sure pictures can do it justice, but you have done well.
It would be great to be able to go back to all of my former journeys and have more time than business trips allow.
