Wow Rooz. Great shot of the kids. Great to see Lukas has talent too!
Great shots, Rooz! Love the eyes on the one Lukas took!

Thank you for the congrats -- becoming a grandfather is quite a life-changing (and ageing) experience!
Rooz & Lucas -- excellent shots, and the b&w mode really seems to suit the subject and mood.
I'm also thinking of 'investing' in an AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 G for indoor candids. Any thoughts about this relatively inexpensive lens, anyone?
35mm f1.8G is a great lens for the price, you won't find a much better prime of it's class within that kind of price range. The 50mm f1.4/85mm f1.4 are better lenses but are a fair bit more.
The 50mm f1.4 though is considered the uber prime though, even though 35mm is closer to that 50mm focal length (effective) that portraits are supposedly best at, but if it's outside your budget I doubt you'd go unhappy with the 35mm offering (note the 35mm f1.8 is DX only, so you won't be able to use it properly should you ever go full frame where as the 50mm f1.4 works fine on a FF body).
Here's a shot taken with the 35mm last year, not a portrait though...
...and whilst i'm at it here's another shot taken in Prague with the lens (silhouette style)..
@ Cyberwlf: Thanks very much for your comments -- most helpful. Also thanks for those beautiful photos of Prague -- they took me right back to when I visited there some years ago. It was a most enjoyable visit -- where else can you attend a Mozart concert held in an 18th century chateau, with all the performers AND the waiting staff dressed in authentic period costume, handing out free champagne? :D
Here is a but of an unusual take on a sunset.
20F after a -5F overnite caused the local river to be almost entirely frozen over, not seen in several years here.
