Anyone like trains?
These are actually miniature trains... yet, they are EXTREMELY real! This is one SERIOUS hobby for some. There's a park near here with tracks running throughout. These train hobbiests (I know that's not spelled correctly if it's even a real word:confused: ) come twice a year. There's a train yard where they work on them with raised tracks to preserve their backs. There's a tunnel, and a bridge... and some of them have cars with benches you can ride on. I really love to go see them every year. The detail just amazes me. And as you can see from the last pic... the adults enjoy them as much as the kids.
Super shots Gracie. lovely & Clear and great colours.
Thanks Val. Glad you enjoyed them.
Gee, I guess no one else likes trains.
Well... they're trains... they're not even real trains, but scaled down ones... ;)
The pictures are very nice though. Very crisp and colorful. I'm slightly envious of your 7D.
And food is just food... and buildings are just buildings... but we post those.;) Seriously, they are cool little things just because they are so technically accurate compared to a real train... not to mention they do make good subjects for composition practice and for taking pics on excessively bright days.:D
As far as the envy... I'm not convinced it's the best camera for the money yet. I'll decide after I pick up my new lens this week. It's got a lot of pros, but I've seen lots of Canons and Nikons that are much sharper... but then that could just be the glass. As I said, I'll see if that's the case in a day or two as I've purchased a very nice lens that's suppose to be super sharp.
Very nice photo's! In reply to another thread that I think belongs here, this is a model train that looks like a model train!
I love those kind of trains too. Every year around Christmas, I use to take my boys to see the model trains... the big set ups with entire cities and bridges and real water. Guess I'm still a kid at heart.
Took my Sister and my 2 little Niece's along to Beer Heights Light Railway in Devon a few months back. BHLR is also where they make Pecorama Model trains incase you know that type of thing.....I don't :) Here's a few pics.
Those are really cool! They look a little more 'formal' than our little shindig. There sure is a lot of steam coming from that little engine. I tried to catch a pic of one that had a fire in his engine, but I missed it. He had gotten off to stabilize a derailed car, and forgot to turn something off. Here's another pic that has a similar design to your engine.
And one more that looked like it had never been on the tracks before. Every piece on this train reminded me of a brand new penny!
