I got a little +4 close-up lens for my FZ5 last week and must say it really makes taking pictures up close a pleasure. I had some initial focus problems figuring out the distances from which to shoot but am now getting better.
I was throwing out stuff which was out date from my fridge today and decided to do some shots of the berries which were too ripe to eat and thus ending in the bin.........
Any adives/comments welcome...........

I am impressed with the close up shots. What is the brand of the macro lens? I have panasonic fz5 and would like to get a macro lens for it. Thanks, Peter

I would think the above photos were with a single element closeup lens. In the strwberry photo it is well focused in the middle but focus softens quickly towards the edges. A dual element lens like the 2.9 x Nikon 4t corrects this.Sample Photo (http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/view_topic.php?id=57403&forum_id=23&highlight=nikon+4t)
The Nikon 4t (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?ci=1&sb=ps&pn=1&sq=desc&InitialSearch=yes&O=SearchBar&A=search&Q=*&bhs=t&shs=nikon+4t&image.x=8&image.y=6) has 52mm threads so it will need a 55mm-52mm stepdown ring (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=11922&is=REG&addedTroughType=search)
With the 4t you will need to be about 12 inches from the subject to use the full 12x zoom of the fz5. The 1.5 x Nikon 3t (24 inches) is also available and can be stacked on the 4t for an effective 4.5 x strength. Other higher quality macro lens like the Oly Mcon 40 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?ci=1&sb=ps&pn=1&sq=desc&InitialSearch=yes&O=SearchBar&A=search&Q=*&bhs=t&shs=mcon40&image.x=5&image.y=6) or very best Leica Elpro 2 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=30082&is=USA&addedTroughType=search) have the added benefit of having 55mm threads and 3 element lens. These lens sometimes show up on Ebay.
