Hey gang! Just wanted to follow up on my post a few weeks back... Blue Springs: Beneath the Surface, where I got to test out the underwater housing that I got for our S500. That was the "dry run" :) . So now I've got some pics from our trip to Key West (actually still on it). They're a little better but still needed some touch up in PS, and prolly still need more (these are the most "post" worthy). I also tried to acutally compose shots as I could, but it's a lil more difficult than on land (and I've already got problems with that!). Anyway, hope you enjoy and I'll have some top side pics to follow soon!

Thanks for the compliment! Diving is definitely in a league of its own as far as the experiences you can have under the water, but it does share a similarity with my other hobbies.... $$$ But always well worth it!

Thanks for the feedback! As for the settings in PS, I used a few different ones. I mostly used the automatic ones just because they were easier and I wanted to post pics :D But to be specific, I used the levels, contrast, shadow/highlight, USM, and that about it I think. Then I just tweaked them so that the pics kinda looked like what I saw down below...

Cool!
I thought I would show you one of my pics I already use auto levels. Do you think theres anything else I can do to improve?

Cool puffer pic! You could also try a little saturation adjustment that would make the colors pop a lil more. Just be careful that you don't ever do it :D BTW, I'm no PS pro... I just use what pleases my eyes when I see the pic.

First, instead of auto levels do a manual levels (on the pic as shown). Pull the left (dark side) slider a bit to the middle.
Then do Filters | Sharpen | Unsharp Mask. Use amount=100, radius=1.

Even better would be to use selective color in CS. You can make the images look just like you saw it when you were there, not with a massive cyan bias.
