I love nature photos, but living in a city, I don't get a lot of oppoturnity to do more than visit parks, nature preserves, and zoos to capture nature in its glory. So, I often make do capturing the urban cityscape. There is beauty there, too.

Since I couldn't find a thread devoted to urban photography, I thought I'd start one.

These pictures were all taken with a Nikon Coolpix 4600. All have been reduced in size for web viewing.

This is a shadow taken through a fire escape in early afternoon, downtown Milwaukee, WI. It's been cropped slightly.

This is a sample of three different architecture types (and materials) all on the same street corner, again in downtown Milwaukee, WI. It's been cropped slightly.

This is a church spire against a cloudy sky early morning. It was a slightly muddy picture to begin with, but when I adjusted the contrast in Photoshop, I came up with this image, which I kinda like.

Finally, here are some vines that haven't yet begun to bloom early this last spring. I adjusted the levels to give the photo an old-time feel to it.

I hope you like them. Please contribute your own urban photos. I'm sure I'm not the only one living in the confines a large city.

Kent - I really like your shot of the window & vines. Nice choice to make it b/w as that really completes the simplicity of the shot. Nice job with the "old time feel". Put this one on the wall.

I have some more, and I'll be glad to post them. But I'd like to see some other people's urban photos, too. Surely I'm not the only one who lives in a Metropolitan area.
