Ive been hearing around the net that there are hacks for the Rebel XT. Does anyone know anything about this? Does it improve features? Is there any chance for permanent damage to your camera?

I've heard nothing about hacking the XT. Got a link?

Who knows, maybe there is something out there...but no one seems to know about it...a least not yet...

How about underexposing by 1 stop at ISO1600 and recover in PS? Might be less risky than a hack.
Just a thought.
As a secondary thought: What is actually left to hack?

I pushed ISO 3200 with my XT and the images were great, actually. Then I got the 20D and exposed properly some ISO 3200 shots and was thrown back in my seat. If you nail the exposure, then they are very clean images. I wish the 350D had an H, ISO 3200 option, so you don't have to push 1600.
Here is an example.
I shot it at 135mm indoors, at f/4.5. Because I was able to use ISO 3200, I got 1/250th out of it. Otherwise the picture would have exhibited camera shake.
The left and right crops are 100% of the original image. The left one is untouched. The right crop is a median noise, fade to color adjustment. It gets rid of color noise and leaves the image sharp and without jaggies and the oversharpened look of most noise reduction progs.
There were three 45watt lights above, in a 30'x18' room. I bounced my 420EX at -1FEC.

If Rebel XT had ISO 3200 I wouldn't consider any other camera. Perhaps some day there will be a hack or maybe even firmware upgrade. Too bad that updating it with it's bigger brother firmware doesn't work.
