are you using bounce flash, or a flash card?? that may help if you're currently attempting with direct flash.

Hi, I have this flash also and haven't been very successful with macro. Pic just comes up as if it was flooded with light. (Whiteout)
Other mode seems ok.
Here is a pic I took using auto on flash and aperture mode on FZ20.

Over the next week or 2 I will spend some time in learning to use the FL28 including macro mode. If you are interested I will post my findings.

@ JandG....
great shot! why don't you share it over at the flowers thread at the gallery section of dcrp forum. :)
and yes, i'd be very interested in how things come up with the fl28 macro mode. thanks in advance.
@ bracko....
i've tried bounce but i still get flooded pics. the fl28 shows a macro setting so 'm a bit surprised why it doesn't come up well without any additional aids (card etc.). read the manual and apparently the flash is actually for the lc1 but as the fz20 manual pointed out, this is pana's recommended flash.
thanks for the replies guys.

i had huge issues on saturday night with my camera doing club shots.... i had to take the settings way down to F7.2 and around 1/500 shutter... this has never happened before, i have reasoned that the roof was low and that was the problem.... but i don't really have too much to go on ATM.
i was a few drinks under the belt so i couldn't sit down and logically work out why i was having so many problems.... next time i think I'll be using shutter priority mode, with an fstop somewhere around the 4.6-5.2 mark and see how we go... maybe a few less free drinks too  .

Hi Meillana,
Haven't had a serious chance to test the flash but hopefully that will happen this weekend.
You mentioned in your previous post (above) that the FL28 manual mentions it is for the LC1 camera. What page is that on.
My manual for the FL28 flash talks about the DMC-LC5 camera.
Just wondering if that has got something to do with our problems with macro setting and overexposure.
Will posts some results soon.
Cheers
I dont have that particular flash. I own a Sunpak 383 Super. I think that your problem with the blown out shots is because the flash is too strong. I dont know if that flash allows you to change the flash power output but I can with the Sunpak, It also has a swivel and tilt head so I can bounce the flash off of something so I dont get over exposed or blown out flash shots. I could be wrong but I think that is your problem.
