i took this shot by shining a laser straight into my a60. haha
does anyone know if its bad for the camera CCD? my a60 doesnt seem to have suffered any damage... hmmm

I don't think I'd do it again...
My experience with lasers are confined to distance measuring devices and firearms. A few years ago I pointed a laser at the surveillance camera system in our building. It caused a temporary "burning" on the monitor and on the VHS tape that continued for several minutes after the laser was turned off.
I've always been told never to point the laser at anything with a photo-eye or LED monitor. The laser emits on it's own band-length, but is roughly about ten million candle power on it's optical scale. That certainly can't be good.
On the other hand, your picture is really interesting. I thought about the next foggy night to set my laser in a fixed mount and paint a light show doing time elapsed photography. :o

Pretty cool shot. I don't think I'll try that anytime soon, so I'm gald someone did.

You probably got lucky that your camera didn't get damaged xiphosurus, but as the others say, it is a great shot.
