DX7440 - ISO 800 at 1.1 MP only

Does anybody who has the DX7440 digital camera, know why it is possible to take pictures with an ISO 800 setting only at 1.1 MP?

It is just a guess, but I believe that the camera "bins" four pixels together to form one larger pixel. That increases the sensitivity at the expense of fewer pixels.
