View Full Version : *New* Kodak EasyShare V550

Anybody out there have this one? It was just released this month and the salesman convinced me to buy it today.
It replaces my Olympus C-750 UZ, which I LOVED! I am giving up the UZ but my pictures were blurry when I used that feature so no great loss there.
I can't find any reviews on it so I would like to know what you think?
I'm off to play...

I'm planning on picking one up (as soon as I can find one available for purchase). Can you tell me where you got yours? I've been looking all over (at local stores and on the 'net) for this camera.
Also, what color did you get? How do you like it? (The performance and the build quality)
Anyways, if you're looking for some other user opinions, there's some over in the forums of www.steves-digicams.com. In the casio forum, there's a topic comparing the Casio z750 and the Kodak v550.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

I got mine at my local Electronics store - Fry's. This store is huge and has everything. They just got it in on Friday night and I am the first to purchase it. I was down to this camera or the Fuji-F10. The salesman talked me into this one because of the viewfinder.
I got silver. That is all they had but I did see that it comes in different colors.
It has got to be the most easiest camera that I have ever used in my life! You will be up and running in 15 minutes.
The manual is LOUSY! But aren't they all?
I'm not sure about the photo quality yet. But my husband, who is a very good photographer, told me that I am not using the flash correctly. He thinks that the quailty is great in natural light.
Here is a picture, inside with the flash. Notice how the background is dark. My husband said that this is because of the flash.
What do you think? This one is pretty dark in the background.
This one is lighter, but I don't know what I did!

Here is a picture with No Flash in natural light.
Let me know what you think. I'm headed outside next!

Sorry - My previous postings have photos that are not showing up. I used the "Insert Phot" button.

Barb, try scrolling down to "Additional Options" and click on the "Manage Attachments" button, if you want to upload one of your pictures. I'm interested in seeing some samples from your new camera.
