POLL: Camera Colour

Hey guys, new to this forum.

I've ceen a diehard S1 user for about the past year and a bit, and the quality is just not doing it for me.
So i'm looking into either the FZ20 or the FZ5.

I have a great opportunity to pick up both models at great prices in silver NOW, but will have to wait 4-6 weeks to get the black version.

What are some of your preferences for those who own them already in either colour.
What colour do you have now?
Would you switch it to the other colour (black/silver) if given the opportunity?

I'm partial to the black right now. Does the silver one come with a silver lens adapter and hood? or is it black?

The silver comes with a silver lens hood and if you want to buy an after market lens hood like the Phayee or others, you can get them in silver also.

I went with black. I think the silver makes a great looking camera but I still chose black but I didn't have to wait for the black color either.

Black won't reflect light if you like taking pictures of birds and animals but it will get hotter if left in the sun.

Seriously for me a camera can be any color as long as it is black.

I have a silver FZ20. At the time I purchased my camera, the dealers were either out of black or were charging at least $50 more for black. If this had not been so, I would have purchased black.

The color does not change the quality of the pictures or the fun.

I have a black FZ20. In other posts I seen mention that the silver rubs off on corners and the black shows. Did Pana paint the black model to get silver?

Although I have black one if I had to wait 6 weeks to start enjoying a black FZ20, I would get the silver one and start enjoying today.

I also got the silver because it was much cheaper, and I couldn't care less about looking "pro". I get comments about how nice it looks practically every time I use it, and after taking a couple thousand pictures, no paint rubbing off here.
That said, I would rather have the black. I suspect that white letters on black on the controls is easier to see in a dimly lit room than black on silver. Also, mine shipped with a black hood and Panasonic has been slow to respond. However, I talked to them yesterday and they're SUPPOSED to be sending a silver hood and a free battery for my troubles. :)

I would have prefered the silver, but I didn't quite have the option when I got mine.

Even though I would have prefered silver, it doesn't much matter to me, I am a happy 5 owner I love this camera. :)

Problem solved.

I was trying basically waiting for either the FZ5 or FZ20 in black.

I was able to get a hold of the FZ5 in black, so I should be pickig it up early next week!
Just in time for July 1 festivities here in Toronto.

I am definately going to miss the manual focus on the FZ20, but other than that i didn't really need the hot shoe.

I'm sure I will make good use of the FZ5.

Will post pics soon enough.

Thanks Astro. I chose the silver only for the reason that it was cheaper and both my kids thought the silver was nicer looking. Personally I like both looks.

The dealer told me the silver would come with a black hood!! And I was told the silver 'appeared' to look smaller than the black.
I waited for an extra 2 weeks for my black one. I would only buy silver if no black was available.

For those who paid more for black, can you tell how much more you paid for it?

I bought mine at Circuit City for $459 late last year. Ordered online and picked up at a local store in two days. They only sold black.
