Hi there, since yesterday my zoombrowserex has been giving me error messages everytime I try to copy over photo's. It's either "no camera was found" or "no images on camera".
It's driving me insane! the connections between cam and computer are fine. The battery of the camera is fine. I've reinstalled the software multiple times and still having the same problem even though during installation there are no problems. Anybody had this and anything I can do ? I don't have a guarantee :-(. New computer and I know there's nothing wrong with that! Please help!
I try copying the files by going into my computer, then opened the camera up in there, but when it's trying to copy things over from the folder there, it just takes too long and freezes up! :-(
have downloaded drivers from canon.co.uk by the way, which hasnt helped!

Camera manufacturers make cameras. They write software as an afterthought. It's better to buy a CF reader and transferring the CF card between camera and computer as everybody else does. I haven't even opened the CD packages that came with my Canon D350.

You'll find it a lot easier with a $20 CF reader.

I think Rhys was suggesting that you simplify your life by purchasing a memory card reader. Make sure that it is a USB2.0 High Speed (480bps) reader.
If you can connect your camera to a computer, you can connect a card reader. Then simply drag and drop the image files from the memory card to a prenamed folder. This takes the camera out of the download equation.
Once you have backed up the folder to a CD or, better yet, a re-writable DVD (DVD+RW or DVD-RW) then you can erase the memory card for re-use.
If you want to later print the images, simply drag and drop them back to the memory card, using the card reader (yes you can write to it as well), and take it to your local print station (Ritz, Kodak Kiosk, Wal Mart, Costco, etc).
Much easier than fiddling with the camera. ;)

re-writable? It's my understanding that the re-writable media is terribly unreliable.
