Those are great photos LoveLife...

You really should post those in the galleries forum. That is a really great place to show photos off, and you could easily throw them into some of the themed threads. I think it is an awesome place to show off the abilities of the Panasonic cameras. I always wish more Panasonic users would show their shots off there.

This is perplexing. When I posted on the Photo Gallery, I received zero responses. When I post here to show what the FZ can do, I get two responses, each telling me to post on the Photo Gallery.

Honestly, I haven't looked at the photo galleries lately, but I always found it useful to find categories and threads that already exist and put the images there.

Also, I found it useful to have the image show up rather than depend on a link. People are lazy. If I posted 3 images in one post, the first image would get a lot of hits, and after that you could see the hits diminish.

Ask for comments too and explain a bit what the photos are. People are better at giving responses when you give some information....

Back to my comment at the top. You can take your image link and do this:

http://lovelife.smugmug.com/photos/23051126-L.jpg

Now the lazy people who may otherwise passover your post will see what it is.

Anyway, I hope you find it constructive, and also ask for constructive criticism or comments. People in general need to be urged to do something.

Good luck... and if nothing changes, I surely don't mind seeing your photos here. I just figured that responses would be better from a photography point of view if all camera users could see rather than just us Panasonic users...

By the way, I like your photos here, especially that succulent-flower shot (that I reposted here)

Thank you for the information. I have been trying to figure out how to post my pictures as you demonstrated how is it done?

It is actually quite easy.... At the top of the message box is a button (in the middle right of all the text formatting buttons) that says "insert image" when you hover over it (yellow with a couple of mountains).

When you click on it, it prompts you for "text to be formatted". All you need to do is paste the link (just like you do in your posts) into that box. That's it. It doesn't work for all images, but it does work for images that are posted to smugbug like you have. It is also easier than reformatting and resizing to be the right size, and you can have multiple pictures in a post.

... you can also just enclose your link in the tags that show up rather than have to press that button. I'd type in the tags but the forum will think it's a picture, so do as I suggest once, and you'll have an example to go by.

I posted a photo here a few days ago which was oddly moved to galleries by someone. While I understand that the Galleries are the section for photos I also think Pana users like to see eachothers work without having to swim through other camera users pics no matter how nice as we are mainly interested to see what others get out of their panas.
So I found it odd that I was not allowed to post my photo here.

This happened to me on my first picture post in this section. We are dealing with an extremely smart web program or an overzealous site monitor. To me, there are sound reasons for posting in either location.

I can understand where you guys are coming from, but I also find it easy to browse through the galleries knowing who the typical Panasonic users are. There really aren't that many of us.

It may also be worth starting a thread in the galleries specific to our camera(s). i.e. Panasonic Fz's or something like that. My experience finds that at about 100 replies (or maybe so many views) it can be suggested that a thread be made a sticky... So it wouldn't take long if people went that route...

Another possibility is to start a thread right in this forum (e.g. "Panasonic Gallery" or "Panasonic Photos"). We can always email the moderator if it gets moved and explain why we want the photos here. I would post photos as I'm sure others would.

Last, there is a group through yahoo groups that is dedicated to Panasonic FZ's. It is called FZ10_users. It is for all FZ cameras (presumably only the FZ10 existed at the time). Anyway, they almost only have FZ photos that they use through PBase. They even have their own site for photos of the week. There are rules, but you can read the info and post your own photos as well. I also notice that a lot of people reply and comment on photos there. It is worth a look.

I think the link is:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FZ10_Users/
