Thought I start this thread so that it wasn't so specific...maybe getting to see some of your pics that don't fit in the exact category currently up on the boards but are worth showing! I love to take nature and landscape shots.....

here are a few....

Great colours.!
Let's hope we get some more on this thread - I'm going away later this week - so I will watch out for some nice English country landscape shots.

I like how you played with the images in post-processing. Great results! For the bridge shot, did you use some kind of filter on you camera or did you add that in PS? I think it lends a good sense of atmosphere to it.

thanks wall.....for the bridge shot, i happened to be lucky enough that the clouds were perfectly positioned which affected the light.....did tweak the colors but that's it.

Here is a night landscape for you. It was done in Hong Kong, taken from the Kowloon side with a Fuji F-10.

Not so much a landscape as a sea-, or rather lake-, scape: seagulls in stormy weather over Lake Erie:

Thats a beautiful shot of Hongkong! You got the exposure dead on so sharp and so clean.

Dij-

Here is a Tokyo Night Landscape. It is not quite as good as the HK one. F-10 Iso 800 F2.8 1/150th. But what the heck this a $300 point and shoot digital camera.

DIJ-

Here is another downtown Tokyo attempt. Fuji F-10 ISO 800, F 2.8 at 1/28th. It is a little better.

DIJ-

Here is one of Beijing taken at about 11pm. Again this is an F-10 ISO 1600 F 2.8 at 1/4. It is still pretty good for a $300 P&S camera

Hey,

Here's my contribution....taken last summer in Nova Scotia, Canada. My photographer cousin really drove me to find good compositions, I guess he decided I needed some help considering I'm only 14 years old. I found this composition by myself though! Comments welcome :D

Sherlock

I really love the tonal qualities of your photo and the emotion it engenders. My one (niggardly) concern is that the fence actually leads my eye out of the photo before I have time to appreciate the beauty of the textures of the walls of the old house.

For me, this photo is very emotional; that is, it provokes gut feelings rather than a "considered" reaction.

I think "visceral" is the word I'm looking for.

Thank you -- at your age, you've "done good", as they say in the classics.

That is a great shot with all those bumpy shapes and horizontal lines. It shows that you don't always need morning or evening light to get a good shot. Nevertheless, if you live in the region, try it one day near sunset or sunrise.

I know... this shot is technically not a landscape, but it is a Sequoia tree that my girlfriend was hugging. As you can see, it takes a landscape shot to give you an idea of how big these trees are.

Taken with my old Fuji Finepix camera at 2MP, full automatic.

Here is another Sequoia Tree... The biggest living thing on Earth, General Sherman in Sequoia National Park. Same trip, although I don't know any of the people in this photo. These trees are slightly less than 300 feet tall and up to 30 ft across. They are not the tallest, but definitely the biggest.
