hi
I just bought the S2 IS and i am having a really unusual problem. when i use the movie mode I get this real purple static. I dont' quite understand it. it flashes on and off and there's l almost nothing I can do to change it. oddly when I lift the flash the static is reduced... any ideas... I"m thinking this is a newbie mistake soemwhere.

hi
thanks for the reply, I have no idea what is going on. The video is so scrambled I dont' know waht to do. I used teh canon sd card and the same problem insued. I don't quite understand what the issue is.
is this an internal issue with the camera?

the camera could be picking up intereference from a router or something. Try using it outside away from your home.

If:
your batteries are fresh (or freshly charged; but do test with batteries, not an AC adapter),
you low-level reformat the SD card in that camera,
you aren't near some kind of electromagnetic interference, and
the same thing happens on another card you've low-level reformatted in that camera,
I'd contact Canon. My tech sense says this is a hardware issue. (But let us know if it isn't! I'd love to be proven wrong, especially if it prevents me from causing the same problem for myself.)

Hi!
I would love to see your movie since I have a Canon S1 and it makes good movies (if you have the proper lighting...) but your link doesn't work!
I 'm very interested in S2 but I see a lot of complaints...
