im shooting video, i want 30fps and continious video. meaning if im using a 1gig card that gives me up to 8mins of video, i want to be able to take 8mins straight through at 30fps consistently. I dont care for shutter skutter mode, and i can live with slower transfer rates.
Is ultra II worth it? Or save $, get bigger card with standard.

im shooting video, i want 30fps and continious video...Is ultra II worth it? Or save $, get bigger card with standard. This is from Jeff's review of the SD200 (http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/canon/powershot_sd200-review/):
"You can now record VGA video (with sound) at 30 frames/second until the memory card fills up! You'll need a large, high speed SD card for this."
Not sure if this is just a 'blanket' statement that gets put on all cameras that shoot 640x480 30fps video, but... why take a chance? Someone else just pointed out that Costco has the 1GB Sandisk Ultra-II (60X) for $74.99. You can find it here (http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?whse=BC&topnav=&prodid=11033697&ec=BC-EC1221-Cat2255&pos=0F). That price is only good through June 19. But seriously, how much would you 'save' by getting a slower card? A few bucks? IMHO, the 'peace of mind' is worth the few extra bucks it will cost you to get the faster card.
Just my $.02 - good luck! :D

If $ is not an issue, would it be worth it to get the extreme over the ultra-II???

An Ultra-II card is not needed. I have a SD300 and can take unlimited video at 320x240 or 640x480 at 30fps with my Sandisk (regular) 512M card. The camera is limited to 60 seconds at 60fps, but I can achieve that as well. The SD200 shouldn't be any faster or slower than the SD300 for video.
You might wish to buy a faster card for transfer or future use reasons, but the camera can not take advantage of a faster card.

serious? yes that is what i wanted to hear. I just want to be able to to take CONTINUOUS video at 30fps, 640x480 no problems, using up the whole card if I want. If a standard card will do this, without affecting the playback quality, then I will get that.
I guess high speed is a waste of $. While were on the topic, are Kingmax cards any good?

Yes, serious. I've filled up my 512 M card at 640x480. I can't vouche for other manufacturers, but with Sandisk the higher speed card wasn't needed.
