I am very limited in what I can spend but need a camera that will take faster shots (my Canon a300 can take up to five seconds between shots!) and has an optical zoom of some sort (family, vacation, landscape shots). I just saw this price at a warehouse store and wondered if it was a good deal and worth it? TIA

Wouldn't a Canon A510 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6968864&type=product&productCategoryId=cat15146&id=1099386062952) be a much better buy at $199 at BestBuy? It's really a small camera if you see it in real life, only looks big in pic.

I don't know--you tell me! ;) Why is the Canon better for $38 more? Especially since it appears to be a slower camera from the reviews I have read, and speed is important to me?
ETA: and would a Canon A520 be even better for another additional $30-45?

If that price is for a *new* camera, then it would indeed be a great buy. It would be quite hard to find another 6mp camera with metal body and manual exposure modes anywhere near this price.
I've read that this camera seems to be faster than average, so it should meet your requirements quite handily.

I agree with Phil-if it's "NEW" that's an incredible deal - Grab it. It supposed to be a very good camera so I think you will be happy. NOW, please share where you find this :D

Oh, yes, it is new at BJ's Warehouse, which has nearly the exact same stuff as a Sam's Club, if you have any of those near you.
I have also found a Sony Cybershot A93 for $200 online...which is the better deal...Fuji F700 for $161.90 + tax or Sony A93 for $200 including shipping? Keep in mind I am looking primarily for a fast camera with optical zoom and good price! I use my camera for photos of family, landscapes/vacations, and eBay pics.
Thanks!

Hmmm...that's a tough decision since I am very fond of the SONY P93 and have seen beautiful pictures from it (my friend has it) but the Fuji might be the better deal...does the battery type make a difference to you? The Sony uses 2 "AA"s whilst the FUJI uses a dock/proprietary battery. Also, you might want to check out random samples of both at pbase.com (you can SEARCH by CAMERA type)....Finally, the FUJI is also thinner and thus a little more pocketable and is All-Metal vs. Plastic.
