I had a Canon A8 which required about 38 MB of disk space for a 3 minutes video with this settings: resolution of 320x280, frame rate of 15 fps, audio 8 bit (i don't know the sampling frequency, but this is less important). As i read in many posts, S2 requires about 1GB for a 8-9 minutes video at 640x480, 30 fps, audio stereo 8+8 bit at 44 KHz. If the S2 video compression is pratically the same of the A80, the above S2 video settings explane the huge space occupated on the memory card by S2.
A crucial factor on my purchase of a S2 camera is just this: on the S2 is it possible to set (1) resolution (e.g. 320x280 or lower), (2) frame rate (15 fps), (3) audio (mono-stero, sampling frequency), with which confine the strong space requirements?

Thanks a lot for any answer and help

Best regards

They have the manual on-line in pdf format on the USA Canon site. Just find the link for digital camera downloads. I'm pretty sure it can do what you want. I bought one for my daughter to learn on but haven't given it to her yet so I've been reading the manual on-line so I can help her with it.

OynegueYou can shoot movies at 320x240, 15 fps. You can not record sound in mono...

read Jeff's review - he has a great color box/chart showing resolution, fps, and time chewed up on the card.
