(I hope this is the best forum for this topic)

I need both a simple tripod and a simple copy stand to use with my new Olympus 7070. I will be traveling with this stuff, including some bicycling and lots of walking/carrying. So, if it’s possible, I want a single unit that provides both functions. Weight and size are both, obviously, major issues. While I’ll use the copy stand function at home for various things, when I’m on the road I’ll be using it at museums and libraries to “scan” documents, photos, and soft-cover technical manuals. The tripod function can be “table top” style – short legs/height is OK.

I’ve seen the Testrite CS-7 and CS-9 copy stands at amazon – these would be in the ballpark assuming that they allow the camera to tilt up for tripod-like shots (I can’t tell from the tiny photos there).

I think that ambient lighting will be adequate for on-the-road copy stand use, but I will need a simple “document holder” to hold down wrinkled documents or bound material. Do any of the purpose-made products that have a document holder fold up or break down to a compact form? Also, glass is not practical – the holder must be tough acrylic or polycarbonate (or maybe I could replace the glass myself, or even make my own holder?)
