Canon SD500 / IXUS700 / IXY600

Please help me!!
Are these models identical? I was looking for an IXUS700, when I went into the store in Japan it was an IXUS or IXY 600. Then looking on the net for English manuals I find SD500. Could anyone please enlighten me!

Hi,

all the models which you have mentioned are infact identical. They are all and the same camera, with the one difference - their name. Depending on what part of the world you are in this line of canon cameras will be call iether SD(The us), Ixus(Europe) or IXY(Asia).

The canon SD 200 is infact the same camera as the ixus 30 and the SD 300 is the same as the ixus 40. I havent come up with an explanation yet, but i think it has something to do with marketing...
