I've been looking at the Z5 for several reasons but mainly the stabilization system, the amount of digital zoom it offers and the speed with which it will take pictures. My brother has one and he got great pictures of whales spyhopping because his Z5 responded so much faster than my Olympus. I didn't know about the soft focus, though, until I read the review here. For the price, is there anything better out there?
(I mostly take nature shots, especially macros, and also indoor and outdoor portraits. Going whale watching again in 6 weeks and would like a camera that is fast enough to catch some good shots.)
