Hello everybody,

I'm a newbie in (digital) photography planning to purchase my first camera. I have been looking around, read reviews, visit some shops and after a while I'm in for the Nikon D70.

I like to shoot object close-ups, people (specially dance and theater performances) a d a bit of landscape / cityscape. And I need prints until A3 format (29.7 cm W x 42 cm H)

The cons I have heard of (from the (different) experts reviews on this camera) are:

- lot of noise at ISO800 and above
- occasional blue color cast on outdoor shots
- occasional moire shoting buildings or patterns

The UK magazine DigitalCamera Shopper made a comparison between the Canon 350D and Nikon D70, and Canon won the match, however, Nikon feels better and steadier on my hands than the Canon, and I cannot stretch my budget to go for the Canon 20D or other more expensive or professional tools.

I was wondering if some of you can are using the Nikon D70 and have some experiences to share or could give me some advise on this choice.

Many thanks for your valuable help and best regards,

dXtrim

Theater you need high ISO, imho the 350D is the only choice.

The d70 just does not have the high ISO performance of the 350D
