View Full Version : Canon Rebel/Epson Printer Problem

Last night I purchased a Canon Rebel XT with the 17-85 lens. I have as Epson R800 printer and a G5iMac. Attached please find a photo.

1. Look closely at the edges of the chess board. They are not straight. There is a parallax problem!

2. I did not see the floor on the sides of the table in the view finder, it appears in the LCD (larger area covered by chip?), it appears on my computer sceen, and when I print it, it disappears and returns to the size I saw in the viewfinder. It should all be the same!

The Rebel XT viewfinder only shows 95% of the captured image, so you will have a little more in the image than what you see when composing. As to the printed image, I am guessing that the difference is because the printer settings are to scale the image to match the paper size. If this is the case, you will get some cropping in anything other than a 4x6 photo or other 2:3 aspect ratio photo.

The bending edges on the attached photo are caused by the lens, and will be visible to some extent on most lenses, more so with the wide angle end of a zoom lens.
