I've been searching and searching for the past few days and I'm between two cameras: A510 and SD200 (Ixus 30 in here). Both cameras have its cons and pros. So what I like and don't like about them: (this is the info I've gathered from some reviews).

A510 has 4x optical zoom, great picture quality, full manual controls and plenty of scene modes. What i don't like is that it has redeye, poor light focusing and the biggest concern is that flash recycle times are slow.

SD200 on the other hand has an excellent design, I just love the way it looks and how small it is, photo quality is supposed to be good, it's very fast thanks to Digic II. What I don't like is that there's quite a lot purple fringing to be seen on the sample photos, redeye is another con. And now the biggest con is that I've seen many people on the internet complaining about the fragile LCD. Many people have said on Amazon and other sites that their LCD has broken.

So is this LCD breaking problem true and which one of those cameras would you choose and why?

If video is not playing a big part in your decision, i would take the A510 over the Ixus for two main reasons:
- It uses AA batteries.
- It has 4X zoom.
It's true that people say that cycle times with flash are slow but frankly I don't think this by itself is a reason not to buy a certain model unless you use the flash A LOT.
