I been searching for days now and can't really seem to figure out what camera to actually go with. I want a camera that I can shoot indoor/outdoor potrait shots as well as late night city shots. The school I am going to recomends the Finepix 7000 z, but the more I read it seems to be very limited on iso settings. I just am lost on what to get, I don't want to spend more then $600 because I am a college student that can't afford a dSLR at the moment. Hell even the canon a95 interested me I just want something that will take pictures that I can put into art shows; like I have with my Canon AE-1.
Please help me out :D
Images like the one I shot with my AE-1 but just digital would be what I am trying to go for.

The first being that it is a true photographer's tool. It shoots in RAW, so you have a digital negative. It also has the fastest lens of the group, f/2.0...a rarity indeed. If you are a photo artist (as I am) you will also greatly appreciate the 7MP that the G6 gives you. It allows you to make large prints and do extreme crops that allow flexibility in conveying your artistic vision. And then there is the articulating LCD that allows you to take shots from positions that would be impossible without it. And lastly, with the recent price drop, it's a steal...
I have never found the 4x zoom limiting, but if you do, there is a very high quality Canon 1.75 tele extender available (as well as a wide-angle converter)
The G6 is about the best you can get without taking the dSLR plunge.
