I want to buy a camera. I've been doning some research online. And i've been reading a lot. And to tell u the thruth i am lost. Ther are so many option and camera's. And there's laways somthing wrong with them. So i keep switching. One day i'll love the E550, and them i read some revieuw and think well... THe F10 then... or maby the LZ2, or.....
So i'm lost could somebody help me out here?

Budget

* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? Please be as specific as possible.
+/- $400

Size

* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you?
not to big, compact
Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you?
>5 mp

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify)
DOn't know how important it is, so i think standard
* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)
I just want to make GOOD pictures, no profesional, but i would like them to be beter then average.
Do you care for manual controls?
NOt at the moment, but i've been reading. And i think is beter to have them. So u can use them in the future

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for?
Family and vacation pictures
* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?
No big prints,
Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?
I think atleast 50% of the shots wil be indoor.
Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?
It might hapen, but that would be on an very rare ocation.
Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate?
I like the colors on Fuji cams

Are there particular models you already have in mind?
Fuji F10 (€350,-/$440,-)
Fuji E550 (€ 290,-/$(360,-)
Panasonic DMC-LZ2 (€325,-/$410,-)
Canon A95 (€270,-/$340,-)
Canon S70 (€ 410,-/$510,-)
Casio EX P-600 (€400,-/$500,-)

The Canon S70 and Casio P600, are $100 above my limit, but if they are beter and worth the money. I could buy them, just a bit later :)

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)

I've been reading (a lot) and i like the IS, but don't know if i realy need it. I'm thinking i will use the high ISO on the fuji more then the IS on the LZ2. But i just don't know wich is beter.

And while i'm at it, could sombody explain the importance of the optical zoom. It one of the major elements in my choise for a camera, But i don't know how much i would use it in normal day use.

My favorite is the F10, great pics, high ISO (low noise), great at indoor/lowlight pics even without flash, 23 feet range on flash.
But no conversion, only 3x zoom, weird I/O port thing.

Hi there, i dont know too much about most of the cameras u mentioned, but i have personal experience with the fuji e550, the canon a75 and a85....had the 75 first and loved it, found it simple to use, and it took great pics...but...it started to make crazy noises so sears upped me to the 85 and i hated it....took terrible indoor pics and i found even my outdoor pics werent as good as my 75...so sears again took it back and i bought the fuji e550 from them and i fell in love....awesome camera, great pics(comparable to the 75, but a little better IMO, awesome movie mode, lighter than the canon, larger lcd(which again is comparable to the canon, some say in bright light it is hard to see, but it is no different than my canon)....anyways, just my 2 cents on the fuji
