okay, so what do you guys think of the two sites?

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/
http://www.buydig.com/shop/home.aspx

i'm gonna be getting the pentax optio S5i, and both sites are the same price. only differnce is that b&h sells the SD cards for much less and have much better shipping prices. so what do you guys think of these places? any bad reviews or horror stories? any help would be great! as always, thanks in advance!

B&H is one of the most respected Photo shops, online and off. You can't go wrong with them.

I ordred my XT and 50mm lens from B&H. I had to confirm my ship to address via a phone call and about 45-50 minutes on hold, but other than that everything was smooth... Would buy from them again.

I just received several components to go with my new Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5 from B&H Photo. They were packaged very nicely and priced just right! :D I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again. I just wish I had ordered my camera from them. I would've saved almost $50. :( Instead, I ordered from Panasonic's factory outlet store and still got a much better price than my local retailer. I ordered 2 1GB sd cards on ebay with no problems from zack.zack.

By the way, this camera is awesome!

Best of luck!

Buy.dig= No phone number
B&H= Perhaps most respected camera retailer

You decide.

I bought my Fuji F10 from B&H Photo. It was $15 more than buydig.com who I thought pretty highly of, but in the end, for peace of mind I went with B&H.
Shipped quick. Easy to track. No problems. Did it all on their website. If you buy a good product by that I mean, one you don't have to return, most stores are good but if you have trouble then you'll wish you went with a hassle free store.

I think the line you get what you pay for is so true when it comes to purchases like this. The lowest price stores are probably the ones that hassle you to return stuff, charge you more for return shipping, etc. Other stores probably factor those costs into their prices and are more mellow to work with when troubles arise. Like Nordstrom or Toy's R Us they'll take back practically anything receipt or not.

I have never purchased a camera from Buydig.com, but this past week I did use them for a MP3 player. I was a little leary since I assumed they were of the sleazy, hard sell accessories category. But I had absolutely no problems and no hassles from my web order. The player arrived on time with order and tracking info via e-mails. It was a true USA warranty item as described, no gray market poop. I would certainly consider using them again.

That said, I am a die hard B&H user. They are always reliable and no hassles.

I bought my SD400 from Buydig.com for $332 and I got it a day early. They also had many good reviews so I would recommend them.

Buydig is an internet e-tailer, I believe they are a derivitive of Royal Camera, but I an not sure. Buydig has developed an excellent reputation on the internet. I have purchased 2 cameras from them and have had no problems at all. I have had friends purchase from them with the same results.
B&H is a brick and mortar store that also sells on the internet. B&H has an excellent reputation. I would have to say that B&H is more classy than Buydig and would probably be a lot easier to deal with with a warranty problem.
Resellerratings.com gives both stores excellent ratings, it just depends on how you want your buying experience.

Buydig.com DOES have a number to call:

1-800-617-4686

I too am a great fan of B&H, it's just too bad most of their digital gear pricing is hardly a bargain. In fact many items sell at close to MSRP's.

I've bought three fairly expensive items from buydig.com. No problems or hassles of any sort (and boy was I nervous the first time!). Only one phonecall from them, when I had erred on my credit card number. Each time the stuff arrived on time, by Fedex. Aside from Amazon (who Rhys doesn't like so much!!) and Barnes and Noble, they are the only i-net seller I've bought from.

I just purchased a Fujifilm Finepix F10 from Buydig and everything went smoothly. They sent me an immediate order confirmation. Two days later, I received a second email informing me that the camera had shipped, along with a FedEx tracking number. And the price was super: $313.75 including S&H. I would definitely buy from them again.

Just finished ordering a Nikon 5900 from them. Great service all around.

Likewise from Buydig - lowest price I could find on the internet for the camera I wanted, and it arrived using the 7-10 postage option in 5 days, including a weekend!
