I'm using Energizer 2300's bought at Wal Mart for under $10/4 pack and am perfectly satisfied with them. I'm pretty sure you can also get them in the 8 pack for about $17.

Sam's club has an 8-pack of Energizer 2500 maH AAs (highest capacity made in AAs) for about $16 or the same 8-pack with wall charger for $20.

This is a great deal.
