Hello dear friends, this is my first post here or infect on any Forum. I currently own a Canon PowerShot A75, which I will be giving to my brother soon. So I need a new Camera which my cosine will bring with him from USA in October or November. I love the A75 but I want a better camera, with lower noise level, better build quality and a metal tripod mount (The only thing I dislike about the A75 is Plastic Tripod). I mainly use the camera for Panoramas, Night-Landscapes, Macro of Flowers, shots of my pets and some times taking shots of birds. I mainly use the camera in Program AE, Aperture Priority or Full Manual but the camera should be simple so that my dad and mom can use it easily. Movie mode is not a buying point for me. The cameras that I am considering are:

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ15: I like its awesome 12x f 2.8 Mega OIS Lieca Lens; it has an AF-Assist Lamp and manual focusing by ring. But I am little concerned about the smaller pixel size (Noise) and Panasonic’s non Camera background. (I know the FZ15 is not out yet but the users of FZ10 can comment on this since both have the same sensor)

Nikon Coolpix 5700: I like its magnesium alloy body, and it has larger Pixel size then most other 4 or 5 MP cameras leaving the Canon A80, flip out LCD but only 1.5”. I am concerned about its low battery life and low light focusing.

Since both these cameras use EVF, are the EVFs on these cameras usable in lowlight conditions (Are they better or poorer to the LCD on my A75) and what about there usability in direct sunlight. Also which memory card do you recommend for these cameras? I currently have a Sandisk 256MB CF card which I will be giving to my brother along with A75.

Or should I go for the Canon A95 or some other camera (3 to 5 MP only please)?

Thanks for your Replies and recommendations.

With Regards
