Hello! I live in the UK and we get a lot of rain, so I was wondering if people had any pictures they had taken of rain, or pictures/artistic pictures with rain in. I'm hoping it might help me to take some good pictures despite all the rain we have here! Here's my only picture with rain in, and as you can see its not brilliant!

I'm not found of the foreground (drops) but the reflections on the water are great. Didn't you take the same pic with open window ?

Nice shot. I like the raindrops on the window, as that is the way you would typically see this scene (through your window).
If you shoot or convert (postprocess) to greyscale, or even convert with IR effects it can definately make a dreary day a little more interesting. Finding areas of color (buildings, trees, flowers, etc.) and then punching up the saturation and contrast (just a little) can also help.
The rain here in the Sanoran Desert tends to be short lived and somewhat violent, but yeilds tremendous colors at sunrise and sunset, and the opportunity to shoot lightning, so not quite the same.

I agree with George I like the rain drops too & the nice reflection in the puddles. You did well to get everything in focus as you did.

I went to the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain.

Now that is an awesome song. Thanks for reminding me of it. :D
In the desert you can remember your name 'cause there aint no one for to give you no pain.

Interesting - I took this earlier this year - I took 3 different versions changing focus point and depth of field. This one was f8 if I remember right - the focus on the houses.

Hello. I've not replied here even though I started the thread! Thanks for the kind comments. Geoff, nice picture. Did it rain after you took it? The clouds in the background don't look too nice! Does anyone have any photos of rain in action?
