View Full Version : focus with zoom lens.

dig. reb, seems to have a problem, when using the zoom lens, with the lens all the out 300mm, the pictures are soft. Tryed using, different types of zooms and still have the same problem. any answers

I honestly doubt that the lens is having issues focusing, but rather that the lenses are probably consumer lenses, therfore soft wide open. I would recommend stopping down to f/8 in Av and seeing if it clears up.
I have the 75-300 canon and the 70-300 sigma and f/8 is 95% of what I shoot them at.

I have a dig rebel and use it with a 70-300 lens and haven't had any problems at all. depending on how it is used I can get my main image is crisp and sharp while the back ground is soft, and I love it. It really makes my son the focal point of the photo. I can also make everything crisp, but I like the soft background.
